Applications must be by a Participant partner or Affiliate partner representative and come from the researchers rather than students. Summer Scholarships are intended to provide university students (not necessarily in their final years) with work experience in the R & D environment. They normally provide a stipend of $4,000 for 8 weeks of employment (i.e. $500 per week), and around $1,000 in operating funds. It is not necessary to have identified a student before submitting an application, but those applications where a suitable student has been identified may be given priority. If the student is based at the Australian Cotton Research Institute (ACRI) in Narrabri an on site supervisor needs to be identified.
The Cotton CRC may be able to assist with accommodation for projects based at the ACRI in Narrabri.
Applications are invited from staff in all Participant and Affiliate organisations in the Cotton CRC, but those from non-university organisations must have agreement from one of the university participants in the Cotton CRC (>Click her to see participants) demonstrating the willingness of at least one member of the academic staff to co-supervise the project.
Applications should be completed on the appropriate form (

Cotton_CRC_Summer_Scholarship_Guidelines_2011-2012.doc )
